I would like to remind Ian that he is playing with peoples careers and thus treating 'his' players like slaves. Please note that Ian's bonus clause only came into the public forum after he rejected the bid for a player that's not worth much more, so we all know why he rejected the bid. But the most disturbing thing to come out of the last weeks transfer news was the fact that Blackpool's manager Ian Holloway has a clause in his contract that grants him a percentage of sales when it comes to players he has bought for the club. Anyway this all came to pass by 11PM and the rumours turned into fact Torres moved from Liverpool to Chelsea for an amazing £50 million and Carroll had Moved from Newcastle to Liverpool for an insane £35 Million plus more dependant on appearances.Īfter that pointless and confusing story I will move on to the true reason I'm posting about football. And Liverpool were going to get Carroll in the end. I predicted (after hearing a Liverpool statement specifically stating that Torres was not for sale) at 12PM that Liverpool made the bid for Carroll because they had already sold Torres to chelsea for either £50 million or a figure ranging between £20 - £40 million plus Anelka. Then Torres handed in a transfer request which Liverpool rejected (this action made Liverpool FC look very silly indeed because why would you want a player that clearly doesn't want to play for your club?). A couple of days before this we knew that Liverpool had rejected a bid from Chelsea for Fernando Torres. We got told that Liverpool had made an outlandish bid for Newcastle UTD striker Andy Carroll (£30 Million) but Newcastle had rejected the bid and wouldn't release the name of the bidder but 4 sources told Sky that it was Liverpool. The rumour mill was spinning and the talking points were all targeted upon Liverpool and Chelsea. At 11AM I switched on Sky Sports news in order to hear rumours and also facts. I wasn't surprised to be honest well not at the end of the night anyway. OK so last night at 11PM the Premiership transfer window closed and teams were unable to make any purchases or sell any players (just in case you don't know what I'm talking about check this out ).
